5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT)-induced receptor-dependent vasocontraction of artery segments from rats exposed intragastrically to particles. The 5-HT response is expressed as the % maximal contraction induced by stimulation with K+ before the dose-response measurements. Each point on the curve represents the cumulative response at each concentration of 5-HT. The data are presented as the mean ± SEM, n indicates the number of animals. An asterisk (*) denote a statistically significant effect on Emax compared to the control group (P < 0.05)
