Impact of CuO NP, CuO MP and CuCl2 on gene expression of HMOX1 and HSPA1A related to oxidative stress response. BEAS-2B cells (a) or A549 cells (b) were treated with the different copper compounds for 24 h. Shown are linear fold changes of the relative gene expression from mean values of four determinations derived from two independent experiments ± SD. 20 μg/mL CuO are equal to 252 μM Cu2+. Please note the different scaling of the y-axis
