Generation of ONOO^-. in MEF cells treated with graded doses of either TiO ₂ particles or C ₆₀ in the presence or absence of L-NMMA at a dose of 500 μM. The fluorescence signals generated from composite images were obtained by confocal microscopy in MEF cells preloaded with dihydrorhodamine 123 with or without subsequent either TiO₂ particles or C₆₀ treatment. The relative fluorescence intensity of ONOO^-. in MEF cells as a function of either TiO₂ particles or C₆₀ concentration with or without L-NMMA. The relative intensities are expressed in arbitrary units. Data were pooled from three independent experiments. Bars, ± S.D.
