Direct in vitro effect of diesel exhaust particles (DEP) on platelet aggregation in whole blood of untreated non-diabetic and diabetic mice. Platelet aggregation in untreated non-diabetic and diabetic mouse whole blood 3 min after the addition of saline or DEP (0.25-1 μg/ml) was assessed. The degree of platelet aggregation following DEP exposure was expressed in percent of control (saline-treated diabetic or non-diabetic blood).
